Abbotsbury Swannery / Tropical Gardens

Abbotsbury Tropical Gardens

About It

The Tropical Gardens was established in 1765 for first Countess of Ilchester, as a garden for her kitchen to her nearest castle. However since 1765 the garden has transposed into a 20 acre fully fleshed tropical garden, where the general public can have a look around!

The Big Restoration

In 1990 there was a big storm, which unfortunately ruined parts of the garden! But since then tropical flowers and exotic flowers have been introduced, and now make the garden look brilliant! Because of this big restoration that happened, the garden is now perfect for wedding venues, or for any type of gathering!
